Courtesy Guidelines:
Courtesy is a must for both golfers and maintenance staff. Here are some guidelines that both staff and golfers can follow to achieve compliance in their work and the golf game.
1. |
It takes 5 to 7 minutes to mow greens and tees, 7 - 10 minutes per greens collar, 20 - 35 minutes per fairway. Please refer to these time limits when making a decision concerning your maintenance work or golf play.
2. |
When mowing, employees will usually finish greens, tees and collars if half completed before the golfers address their shot. If the course is crowded he or she may mow the entire green to minimize stopping more than one group.
3. |
When moving fairways and roughs, mower operators will stop only when necessary to, avoid direct contact with the golfer or the ball he or she is hitting.
4. |
Golfers should not request employees to stop their engines. Employees are instructed not to turn off mowers so as to cut down on starter maintenance. Employees are instructed to idle their engines and/or remove themselves from the immediate area to allow play before continuing their job.
5. |
Golfers should be aware of their playing ability so that employees are not in danger of being struck by misguided or misdirected shots.
6. |
Employees should also know where the golfers are located on the course so they may play each hole quickly and safely.
7. |
Golfers should be prepared to make their shot when requested to do so by the mower operator. However, make sure the employee knows when you are hitting.
